GREG PAULUS

Greg Paulus is a versatile Brooklyn-based trumpet player, producer, DJ and vocalist known for his unique fusion of jazz and electronic music. He co-founded the acclaimed electronic duo No Regular Play, touring internationally and releasing music on respected labels such as Wolf + Lamb, Ghostly International, Freerange Records and !K7. Paulus has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including Matthew Dear, Francis Harris, Jimpster, Art Department, Soul Clap, George Clinton , Beirut and RZA, bringing a genre-crossing improvisational style to each project. A highlight of last year was playing the Hollywood Bowl with Mulatu Astatke. His solo work showcases a compelling blend of live trumpet, house beats, and soulful vocals, positioning him at the forefront of contemporary jazz and electronic fusion. He currently tours as a DJ/Live act and with his live band of the most stellar musicians in the world - Jason Lindner on keys, Timothy Angulo on drums and Panagiotis Andreou on bass. They tour the world, play every Wednesday at La Milagrosa in Brooklyn and are residents at the Houghton festival in the UK.

Growing up as a jazz trumpet player Greg attended the Stanford Jazz Residency and went on to receive a bachelors of music from the Manhattan School of Music. In 2011 he performed “TimePiece” with the Minnesota Orchestra, (a concerto fusing orchestral with Jazz soloists and electronics) that he co-wrote with his father, Stephen Paulus.

No Regular play was honored by The Young Patrons of Lincoln Center for their Unique contribution to the Arts in 2014.
